Joining Kea was an easy decision for me because of the people. As I met the team throughout my interviews, I realised that every single person was easy to talk to, interesting and above all kind. This was representative of a culture I wanted to be part of. I believe people are able to do their best work when they are at ease, and from the first interaction I knew I felt comfortable here!

What fills your diary on a day-to-day basis?

IO

My day typically involves a mixture of speaking to candidates and updating them on the next steps in their active processes. I also run webinars to educate university students on what opportunities are out there. This helps students begin thinking about where they want to end up in terms of strategy so they can start building relevant skill sets and optimising their experience where possible. It’s also a really nice way to get future candidates introduced to some friendly faces on our team, so that when the time comes, they recognise someone and can reach out.

How has your career developed at Kea?

IO

When I joined Kea, I had a few years of experience working as a marketing and project coordinator at a smaller organisation. I’ve been able to apply my organisational skills to larger projects and learn how to work within multiple teams concurrently. This challenged me to hone in on my project management skills, and I feel so much more confident in my work because of it. I’ve also been able to learn more about the world of finance; something I had never been exposed to previously.

Success at Kea

As a coordinator, I am involved in several projects, work across multiple Kea teams, and am in touch with many of our candidates. The key to success here is relationship building; ensuring that I am effective in my communication with everyone I am working with so that I can identify, and solve, any roadblocks quickly and effectively.
