What’s your edge?
I care deeply about the standard of work I deliver and the relationships I build along the way. For me, that means listening carefully, being highly responsive and taking ownership throughout a search. I try to understand what matters to each client and adapt accordingly, while making the process as seamless as possible for everyone involved. I learnt early in my career that strong relationships are built through consistency, attention to detail and doing what you say you will do, and that has stayed with me.
Which Kea value speaks to you most?
Inquisitive Listening. One of the most interesting parts of my role is taking the time to understand how a client thinks about their business - how they have built their team, how they envisage their investment mandate developing and the strategy behind it. That context allows you to look beyond the brief on paper and develop a much clearer view of the type of person who will be successful within that environment. Translating those conversations into finding the right candidates is one of the parts of search I enjoy most.
What does success mean for you at Kea?
Success for me is building long term relationships with clients who trust both me and my judgement. The goal is to understand a client, their team and their investment strategy well enough that they value my perspective beyond an individual search - whether that is on the market, a particular profile or how they might approach building their team.
How has your career developed at Kea?
One of the most rewarding aspects of my time at Kea has been the breadth of my exposure. My work has spanned public equities, large cap private equity and, increasingly, the Middle East, giving me the opportunity to work with very different investors and investment strategies. Each client has a distinct mandate, culture and view of what makes a successful investor, and learning those nuances and delivering against them has been particularly interesting. While the breadth has been exciting, the opportunity to develop deeper relationships with clients over time has been the most rewarding part.
